FOUNDER & TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP

1VetTech operates at the intersection of experience, growth, and innovation.

The organization is led by a founder with more than 15 years of high-responsibility, mission-driven leadership experience, bringing operational discipline, service-minded purpose, and a strong commitment to defensive security. Supporting that vision is a Technical Director of Financial Systems, a Spelman-trained computer programming specialist who helps architect secure, organized, and scalable systems that support the company’s long-term mission.

Together, this leadership structure reflects a shared commitment to stronger systems, stronger knowledge, and stronger communities.

About Me

HERO / EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Eric “JJ” James is a cybersecurity student, systems-focused builder, and founder of 1VetTech, committed to protecting people, infrastructure, and communities through practical, defensive security.

With a background shaped by disciplined leadership and high-pressure operations, he approaches cybersecurity with structure, precision, and accountability. His work centers on building resilient systems, improving digital hygiene, and developing hands-on Security Operations (SOC) capability through home lab environments, monitoring tools, and real-world simulation.

Through 1VetTech, Eric is building a mission-driven platform focused on cybersecurity awareness, infrastructure resilience, and practical defense for veterans, seniors, small organizations, and underserved communities. His goal is to turn cyber knowledge into clear action—helping people understand risk, strengthen their systems, and operate with greater confidence in a digital world.

His mission is direct: build secure systems, reduce risk, and create lasting stability in an increasingly complex threat landscape.

THE BIG 3

Primary Digital Risk Surfaces We Focus On

Modern cyber threats tend to strike through a few common exposure points. At 1VetTech, we focus on three of the most common and damaging risk surfaces:

1. Unsecured Smart and IoT Devices
Smart homes, cameras, routers, voice assistants, wearable devices, and connected medical technology often create silent points of entry when left unmanaged or improperly secured.

2. Human Behavioral Exploitation
Phishing, social engineering, credential reuse, scam funnels, and manipulation-based attacks continue to succeed because people are often targeted before systems are.

3. Lack of Log Visibility and Data Monitoring
Organizations and households cannot defend what they cannot see. Without visibility into alerts, logs, and abnormal activity, threats remain unnoticed until damage is already done.

Our history

Where We Come From

We come from modest beginnings — built on discipline, responsibility, and the belief that skills should serve people, not the other way around.

Our journey spans continents and communities — from Okinawa, Japan, to Alabama and beyond. Shaped by military service and operational environments where precision mattered and failure had consequences, we learned early that protection is not theoretical. It is practical. It is daily. It is earned.

Long before cybersecurity became a formal academic path, we were practicing its principles in real time: safeguarding sensitive information, protecting operational systems, and maintaining trust under pressure. Whether supporting small businesses, veterans, seniors, or local communities, the mission remained the same — keep systems secure and people protected.

That foundation was strengthened through education and continuous growth. With an Associate degree in Business Administration completed in 2016 and ongoing academic training in cybersecurity, we’ve learned to bridge technical knowledge with operational reality. Security must function in the real world — within real budgets, real workflows, and real lives.

What began as hands-on problem solving evolved into veteran-founded service initiatives, technical labs, and community-focused security efforts. We built documentation. We built processes. We built systems designed to be repeatable, ethical, and resilient — not just operational.

Today, we continue to grow. We refine our training. We expand our capabilities. We develop forward-looking tools that integrate cybersecurity, AI-driven monitoring, and human-centered design to meet emerging threats with clarity and discipline.

Our story is not finished.

It is still being written — across generations, across communities, and across the digital landscape we now help defend.

One project.
One lesson.
One community at a time.

Information

Too many classes, too many offices, too many people pointing in different directions—half of them no longer even there. It’s overwhelming. Instead of guidance, you get chaos. Instead of help, you get passed along.

1VETTECH exists to slow that chaos down.
We give the power back—one clear step at a time.

We don’t rush. We don’t confuse. We control the flow and guide people through the digital monster that government and institutional websites have become. No jargon. No runaround. Just real help, explained clearly, at a pace that makes sense.

We focus on what’s affordable, efficient, and practical—not flashy, not overpriced, not wasteful. Tech should work for people, not against them.

We believe we can do better.  And if we do better, we work better.

That’s what 1VETTECH is about.
